CCCP Space Hero

Hace unos meses salió al mercado un busto genial de Raffaele Picca llamado "Major Tom". Un pequeño busto de un astronauta con muchas opciones de montaje y facil pintado. La version de Raffaele era la version Americana y se me ocurrio hacer una version Rusa de la antigua CCCP. Espero que os guste mi version! Some months ago, "Major Tom" by Raffaele Picca arrives to the shops. A little bust of a spaceman with a lot of setting options and easy to paint. The Raffaele version was the american style and I thought to do a russian version of the old CCCP. We hope you like the result!

Composición/Composition

La idea es simular los trajes y colores de los antiguos trajes de los rusos en la antigua CCCP. Se utilizaban trajes naranjas y cascos y accesorios blancos. En estas fotos podeis ver como eran los astronautas rusos de aquella epoca que tanto admiramos.
The idea is copy the suits and colors of the old suits of the russian in the CCCP. They wear bright orange suits and helmets and accesories in white. In this photos you can see how they were in that time:

Pintado de la figura / Painting the miniature

El busto tiene una parte interior y una exterior (traje y casco). Dado que vamos a montar el busto con el traje exterior, pintamos el interior previamente en blancos y luego montamos el exterior. Pintamos el blanco sin usar blanco. Hemos usado carne clara ya que tiene algo de naranja y se complementara con el traje exterior. Para sombrear utilizamos algo de azul añadido a la carne clara y para las luces finales usamos blanco puro. Utilizamos aerografo para aplicar el blanco ya que a pincel es una tarea casi imposible:
The bust have an internal part and an external part (helmet and suit). As we are going to mount the bust with the external suit, we paint first the inside part using whites and after we will add the external suit. We paint the white without using white. We use light flesh from vallejo so it has some orange and it will complement the external suit. For the shadows we use some blue added to the light flesh and for the final lights we use pure white. We have used airbrush to apply the white because using brush is almost impossible:

La parte exterior la pintamos de un naranja brillante. Hemos utilizado colores de Jo Sonja para el naranja mezclando amarillo y rojo. Aplicamos con aero y recortamos las zonas interiores con Marron rojizo con algo de negro:
The external part were painted using a bright orange. We have used colors from Jo Sonja for the orange mixing yellow and red. We apply it using airbrush and we paint the internal edges using redish brown with a little of black:

Pintamos los dorados utilizando MNM con la tecnica que hemos comentado en otros articulos usando marrones para sombras, amarillo para la zona media y amarillo hielo y algo de blanco para las luces:
We paint the golden parts using the MNM technique that we have explained before in another articles using brown tones for the shadows, yellow for the base and ice yellow and some white for the lights:

Pasamos a pintar la cara. Hemos hecho un pintado de una piel estandar intentando que sea palida. Utilizamos colores de Jo Sonja tambien mezclando amarillo rojo y algo de azul:
We continued painting the face. We have done a skin standard painting trying a pale result. We use colors from Jo Sonja also mixing yellow, red and a bit of blue for the shadows:

Después de este paso colocamos la mascara y rematamos añadiendo pequeños freehands a la miniatura.
After this step we glue the mask and we finish the work adding little freehands in the miniature.

Conclusiones / Conclusions

Genial busto, facil de pintar y muy recomendable para practicar el pintado de caras "standard". La calidad de la copia es increible y se pinta realmente rapido. Una pieza genial para hacer entre proyectos grandes.
Awesome bust, easy to paint and very recommendable for practice the standard face painting. The quality of the copy is amazing and it is a fast painting bust. A great mini for painting between big projects.
