MV's Jar's Beginners Class Madrid

Este fin de semana ha tenido lugar en Madrid el curso impartido por Roman Lappat, denominado "MV's Jar's Beginners Class" al cual he tenido la suerte de asistir. El curso de unas 30 horas de duracion en 3 dias incluye todos los aspectos de la creacion de escenas con miniaturas. Desde la creacion de la peana, composicion, teoria de color, montaje de figuras, iluminacion, contraste, ambientacion.... El curso fue organizado por Fantastic Courses en las instalaciones de BigChild. Un proyector para las presentaciones y una cámara para ver claramente todo lo que hacia el profesor fueron de gran ayuda y utilidad.
This weekend has taken place in Madrid the painting course by Roman Lappat, called "MV's Jar's Beginners Class" which I would lucky to assist. The course is about 30 hours in 3 days and it includes all the aspects of miniature scene creation. From the creation of the base, composition, color theory, miniature mount, lights, contrast, ambientance.... The course was organized by Fantastic Courses at BigChild. A big projector for the presentations and a camera to see perfectly all that Roman did were very useful.

La organización del curso ha sido muy buena, yendo paso a paso por cada aspecto desde lo mas basico a lo mas complejo. La utilización de imágenes para ilustrar los conceptos ha sido muy util para comprender mejor conceptos mas difíciles. Es un curso de unas 30 horas en 3 dias, por lo que en ciertos momentos es duro, pero la recompensa de ver terminado un trabajo completo el domingo lo compensa. Creo que es el primer curso en el que termino casi totalmente una figura!
The organization of the course was excellent, going step by step of every aspect from the more basic things to the more complex. The use of images from canvas paintings to illustrate the concepts has been very useful to understand the difficult concepts. The course is about 30 hours in 3 days, so sometimes is hard, but the reward of a almost finished work on sunday worth it. I think is the first course where I have finished my miniature!

Hemos hablado sobre teoria de color y conceptos basicos de pintura para entender como funciona el color. Despues, creamos nuestra base, usando los materiales de Roman (llamados basura por nuestras mujeres). Utilizando materiales similares cada uno hizo una distinta. Despues la pintamos en la atmosfera seleccionada por cada uno. Despues empezamos con la miniatura hasta terminarla revisando conceptos como luz cenital, luces y sombras, veladuras, y otros conceptos.
We have talked about the color theory and basic concepts of painting to understand how colors works. After that, we prepare our own base, using all the Roman basing material (also called trash for our wifes). Using similar materials everybody make a different one. After that we paint it based in the athmosfere of the miniature. Once painted we start with the miniature, reviewing concepts like cenital light, shadows and lights, making a layer, a so on.

Durante las explicaciones surgieron muchas otras preguntas, y todas fueron contestadas asi que el curso no es solo sobre el temario sino sobre todo tipo de cuestiones.
During the explanations a lot of questions rises, and all had an answer so the course is about a lot of things, not only basic questions.

Más importante que el resultado ha sido lo aprendido durante el fin de semana, un monton de cosas que ahora hay que ir poco a poco entendiendo y mejorando en futuros trabajos!
More important than the results is the learned lessons during the weekend, a lot of things to understand which has to be undestand slowly and improving in the following miniatures!
