Lampara/Lamp
La iluminación a la hora de pintar miniaturas es vital. Si leéis artículos por Internet coinciden en que la luz debe ser blanca, y que no debe quemar la figura ni ser demasiado tenue. También se habla de si debemos usar una o varias lamparas, la posición, potencia, etc. Esta claro que cada uno trabaja como quiere, pero realmente si queréis olvidaros de todos esos problemas y no tener que experimentar con bombillas, flexos y alturas, lo mejor es comprar una lampara tritubo como la que tenéis aquí:

Es una solución que a priori parece cara (unos 60 euros), pero si sumara la cantidad de dinero que he gastado en distintos flexos, bombillas y otros inventos, seguro que habría comprado la tritubo hace tiempo. Si podéis haceros con ella no lo dudéis.

Agua/Water
Que estupidez no? pues no. Es importante tener siempre dos botes con agua limpia al principio de la sesión de pintura: uno para las pinturas normales y otro para las pinturas metálicas. No olvidéis lavarlo bien después de la sesión para que no queden restos de pintura en el fondo que se mezclen la próxima vez que pintéis.
Stupid? no! Is very important to have always two bottles with clean water at the begining of a painting session: one for the regular colors and another one for the metallic ones. Don't forget to clean them carefully to avoid mixing paint remains with another colors.
También podéis utilizar thinner para pinturas acrílicas en vez de agua para disolver la pintura, aunque es mas recomendable para hacer degradados mas limpios, no es imprescindible. Un bote cuesta unos 7 euros y tendréis para muchas sesiones:

Tambien podeis usar pipetas para hacer las mezclas con mas control. Valen un euro y son muy utiles:

Pincel/Brush
Solamente necesitais un pincel para pintar miniaturas. Pero uno bueno. Os recomiendo el Winsor and Newton del 1 de Series 7 (no el de series 7 miniature). El precio ronda los 11 euros. Lo importante del pincel es la punta (no que sea pequeño el pincel) y estos pinceles consiguen tener punta durante meses.
You only need one brush to paint miniatures. But a good one. I recommend you a Winsor and Newton one from series 7 number 1 (not the series 7 miniature). The price is about 11 euros. The most important part of a brush is the tip (a little brush couldn't have a good tip) and this brushes have a tip that can last for months.
Para mantener el pincel con buena punta, es importante como limpiamos el pincel. Aquí tenéis un video de como debe limpiarse el pincel, usando una esponja, para dejarlo como nuevo tras una sesion de pintura:

Tambien es importante a la hora de pintar como coger el pincel. Debe hacerse como si fuera un boli, intentando acercarnos a la punta, para tener asi mas precision:

Aerógrafo/Airbrush
El aerógrafo es una herramienta secundaria, es decir, no es necesaria, pero acelera muchas de las tareas a la hora de pintar una miniatura: imprimar, dar luces y sombras generales, limpiar zonas. Más adelante explicaremos como sacarle el mayor partido al aero. Por el momento si estais pensando en comprar uno, haceros con un Evolution es la mejor opción:
The airbrush is a secondary tool, this is, not necessary, but it accelerates a lot of tasks of painting a miniature: primer, general light and shadows, clean transitions. Pero mas importante que el aero, es el compresor. Es mejor comprar un buen compresor que os dure de por vida, que uno que al poco tiempo os dara problemas y que no regule bien la presión. Hay gran cantidad de fabricantes, pero lo suyo es que sea silencioso y con calderin.
But the most important part of an airbrush is the compressor. Spending more money for a good compressor that will last all your live is better than pay for cheaper compressors that will not give you the correct preassure. There are a lot of brands, but the most important is that it has to be silent and have air depot.
Mesa de Trabajo/Working Table
La mesa de trabajo debe tener una zona donde podamos cortar y trabajar sin peligro de dañar la mesa. Hay alfombrillas de corte para tapar la zona central de trabajo y asi despreocuparse. Es conveniente tener a mano los elementos de pintura que utilicemos más para ir mas rapido. Aqui teneis una foto de mi mesa de trabajo:
