The Sorcerer

Recientemente Games Workshop ha sacado su juego de Silver Tower y con él, un interesante pack de 4 figuras llamado Mighty Heroes donde podemos encontrar un Mago de Tzeentch que vamos a pintar siguiendo el mismo esquema que Games Workshop. Esperamos que os guste el resultado! Recently Games Workshop has released their game Silver Tower and with it, a very interesting pack of 4 figures called Mighty Heroes where we can find a Tzeentch Sorcerer that we will paint following the same schema that uses Games Workshop. We hope you like the result!

Composición/Composition

En el caso de esta figura no hay trabajo de composición o ambientación. Vamos a pintarla siguiendo el esquema que nos muestra Games Workshop en su encarte y la pondremos sobre una peana de juego que decoraremos ligeramente, pero la idea es jugar con la miniatura al juego por lo que no haremos una peana escénica en este caso.
In this case we won't make any composition or ambientance work. We will paint it following the schema that show us Games Workshop in its presentation and we will put the miniature in a game base slightly decorated, but the idea is play with the miniature in the game so we will not make a scenic base in this case.

Pintado de la figura / Painting the miniature

La figura se compone de cuatro partes (cabeza, brazos y cuerpo), por lo que se monta fácilmente. Vamos a montar solamente la cabeza y los brazos los dejaremos a parte para pintar cómodamente el pecho y la espalda. Por lo tanto preparamos las distintas partes de la miniatura para pintar y damos capa base con los colores de la figura. Hemos utilizado para la armadura turquesa Hawk de GW y para la piel azul gris con un poco de turquesa:
The miniatures has four parts (head, arms and body), so the mounting process is really easy. We will not glue the arms yet so we can paint the body easily. We prepare the different parts of the miniature for painting and we apply a first layer with the base tone. We have used turquoise hawk from Games Workshop for the armour and blue gray with torquoise for the skin:

Empezamos con los dorados que pintaremos en MNM (metal no metal) que haremos siguiendo la misma mezcla de colores en todas las partes doradas de la miniatura. Para ello utilizamos yriel yellow, marron naranja, amarillo hielo, morado, marrón rojo y negro y blanco. Degradaremos estos colores como si se tratara de un degradado normal blanco-amarillohielo-amarilloyriel-marronnaranja-marronrojo-negro. Así por ejemplo en la espalda de la armadura, aplicamos la luz máxima en la zona más alta del metal simulando el brillo dorado. El morado lo utilizaremos para dar mas profundidad a las sombras:
We start with the gold metals that we will paint using MNM technique following the same colors for all the golden parts in the miniature. We will use yriel yellow GW, orange brown, ice yellow, purple, red brown and black and white. We will degree those colors as a normal degree from white-iceyellow-yrielyellow-brownorange-redbrown-black. So in the armour back we will apply the max light in the top of the back. The purple is used for giving more deep to the shadows:

La espada la pintamos utilizando tambien la misma tecnica de Metal No Metal pero con grises azulados. Para ello utilizamos el kit de MNM de Scale 75 la opcion de azulados. Simplemente aplicamos los 4 colores del kit, y blanco para las luces maximas y negro para las sombras maximas. Para finalizar, realizamos un perfilado en blanco de los filos:
The sword is painted using the same MNM technique but using blueish grays. We used the MNM Scale75 kit, the blue option colors. We apply the colors of the 4 bottle set and white for the max lights and black for the max shadows. To finish, we outline the sides of the sword:

Aplicamos dorados también en los bordes de la armadura y en las telas de delante y detrás con la misma técnica de dorado que con la armadura:
We paint also the gold border to the armor and to the front and back cloths using the same golden technique used in the armor:

Seguidamente pintamos la cara y las patas. Utilizamos azul gris con un poco de turquesa y sacamos luces añadiendo blanco. Para las sombras utilizamos turquesa con morado y en las ultimas sombras un poco de negro. La luz final de los cuernos se hace con blanco puro para resaltar el final del mismo.
We continue painting the face and the paws. We used gray blue with a little bit of turquoise adding white for the lights. For the shadows we use turquoise and violet and in the final shadows add a bit of black. The final light of the horns is made using pure white to stand out its end.

Para terminar pegamos los brazos y pintamos siguiendo los mismos esquemas que antes para los dorados y la piel. Para el cetro hemos utilizado violeta de vallejo y para darle aspecto de piedra hemos dado barniz brillante al terminar. Tambien aplicamos el mismo barniz brillante en el ojo:
To finish the painting we glued the arms and we paint them using the same schemas as be used in the gold and in the skin. For the scepter we paint it using violet an make some small lines with white and to give it a stone look we apply some glossy varnish. We apply also glossy varnish in the eye:

Decoramos la peana con algunos elementos y algo de arena para darle mas textura a la que nos viene con el kit:
We add some more elements in the base and some sand to give the base more texture than original:

Pintamos y decoramos la peana con algún hierbajo:
We paint the base and add some weed:

Conclusiones / Conclusions

Una figura rápida de pintar sin muchas complicaciones y de muy buena calidad. Creo que la posicion de la espada es erronea y deberia estar más hacia un lado para no cruzar la cara del personaje o quizas se podia haber subido mas como si estuviera atacando. Aun asi una figura sin apenas rebabas y muy divertida de pintar. Totalmente recomendable para pintar entre proyectos más largos o ratos sueltos.
A fast painting miniature very easy and with a high quality plastic. I think the sword position is not correct and it should be more to the side for not crossing the face hero or maybe it could be higher as it is attacking. Even so a great miniature without mold lines and very fun to paint. Totally recommended for painting between big projects or in loose times.

- La posición de la espada tapa la cara de la miniatura.The sword position cross the face.
